Built from the ground up, on the Northern Beaches
Our founder, Nick Filacuridi, was born and raised on the Northern Beaches. He went to St Augustine’s College in Brookvale, completed his Carpentry Cert III at Brookvale TAFE and followed it with his Building Cert IV. He picked up the tools as an apprentice carpenter in 2017, and by 2021 he was ready to back himself: one young sole trader, a set of tools, and a name to earn.
The early work was carpentry and decking, won one recommendation at a time. That was deliberate. Going out on our own meant taking full accountability for the result, with no one else to point to and nowhere for a shortcut to hide. It is a standard far easier to hold when the name on the contract is your own.
Growing up here, and now raising a family of his own, Nick understands how homes on the Beaches need to function. This is an area full of busy households, and the homes that work best are the ones built for everyday life just as much as they are for having people over. Knowing that from the inside changes what gets designed in, what gets questioned early and what gets built to last.
What drove the decision was never scale. It was the part of the job we still value most: taking what a family pictures for their home and making it real, then standing behind it. Handing back a finished home and seeing the family happy in it is close to the best feeling in the job. Bringing someone’s vision to life is a responsibility we wanted to own outright and to deliver on every time, not most of the time.
Since then the work has grown considerably. What began as one carpenter is now a full in-house team. A project manager, carpenters and apprentices, delivering full home renovations, structural extensions and new builds across the Beaches. The trades we once had to bring in are now our own, which is exactly why we can promise one team, one contract and one point of contact. The scale has changed. The standard behind it hasn’t.
That ambition is the most useful thing you can know about us. A builder with a reputation to build makes different decisions on site: in what gets specified, what gets flagged early and what gets fixed properly rather than covered up. We are building a name here, in the community we live in, one project at a time. It is the strongest guarantee we can offer, and it is why we don’t cut corners on anything. That is the NF reputation.

We run our trades in-house. You won’t be handed between contractors who have never worked together, and you won’t be the one coordinating them. From the first site visit to final handover, it’s one team, one contract and one point of contact.
Every enquiry personally reviewed
Nick reviews every enquiry personally and responds within 24 hours. Through the build, you’ll know what’s happening on your home and when, including the things that are harder to say. If something needs to be raised, we raise it early, while there’s still time to make the right call.
Project by project, never cutting corners
Not on the structure you’ll never see, and not on the finishes you’ll touch every day. Our reputation on the Northern Beaches was built project by project, and there is no job worth compromising it for.

Nicholas Filacuridi
Nick started the business in 2021 and still runs every project through his own hands and his own phone. He meets every client personally, reviews every enquiry, and works on site alongside us rather than from behind a desk, which is exactly how he wants it.
Where you’ll find him on site: Setting out and working the job out of the ground: concreting, block work and earthworks. The stage where a project stops being a plan and becomes something real.
What he enjoys most: Sitting down with new clients and talking through their build. Understanding what a family actually wants from their home is the part of the job he never gets tired of.
Off the tools: Golf, catching up with mates, travelling, and time with his daughter.

Richy Cen
Richy keeps our moving parts moving.
Trades, timelines, deliveries and the hundred small decisions a live site produces every day run through him — which is why our projects hold their program, and why our clients are never the ones chasing answers.
What he enjoys most: Managing a job site and solving problems. As Richy puts it, it’s a bit like an orchestra: many trades, plenty of different personalities, all working together to produce quality work.
Off the tools: CrossFit, mountain biking, camping, cooking and surfing.
In his words: “The team. The boys are very vibrant and energetic, so it makes coming to work a little bit interesting. And the socials, it’s good fun seeing the community get around us.”
Tristan Brown
Tristan is one of the hands behind our finish. He’s the kind of tradesman who cares whether a line is straight when nobody would notice if it wasn’t, which is precisely the standard we think a home should be built to.
What he enjoys most: Running the track saw down a deck to cut every board off in one straight line for the edge board. And putting the last screw into a project, then standing back and looking at a finished job.
Off the tools: Mountain biking, swimming, and cooking for his missus, “and doing what she says.”
In his words: “The feeling of working alongside like-minded people who are always striving to achieve the best outcome possible on any of our projects, no matter what element or stage it’s at.”
Josh Sheals
Josh is learning the trade the way we think it should be learned, on real sites, alongside tradesmen who take the time to teach him properly. The care he already brings to his work says plenty about where he’s headed.
What he enjoys most: Laying floorboards and fitting angles together, especially when the last piece goes in smoothly.
Off the tools: Driving, running, swimming, cooking and music.
In his words: “The atmosphere with not only the team but also the other trades we work with. The people I get to work with every day are all people I admire and look up to in my journey, especially the way we all look out for each other, no matter the level of skill, while having a bit of a laugh along the way.”
